I remember cringing when I heard Dandapani recommending meditating in silence. I was nervous and thinking, "I absolutely HAVE to listen to something while I meditate."
Turns out, he was right. Meditating is the best thing you can ever do for yourself.
Why?
One: it connects you to your soul, which helps figure out your life's purpose. You will get inspired to take action and not understand why, but at the same time think, "This was so obvious. Why didn't I do it before?"
Two: it helps get to know who you are like Dandapani said. How do you get to know someone? By spending time with them. It's the same thing.
I meditate every morning and night and it's like I'm a different person. I know it's going to feel weird, but try to meditate in silence for at least five minutes and you WILL start noticing the difference.
Ignore the urge to put on music, and understand that's just the ego who wants to stay connected to the 3D (more on this in the book "Manifest Your Destiny" by Wayne W. Dyer).
I'm telling you, this is life-changing. If you want, you can Google meditation benefits and see for yourself. It will become addicting.
