Focusing on the Positive, Not Negative

Why is it that when people ask us how our day went, we immediately start with the worst thing that happened?

It took me a while to catch onto this, but it's strange how much focus we put on the negative instead of the positive. Surely something good happened to you, whether someone bought you coffee out of nowhere or you received good news at work.

But for some reason, being negative is so... addicting. And I'm not claiming to be perfect, because I know I used to do this, too.

So I came up with a little challenge for myself and others: to name something good that happened in your day.

You might be thinking, "Well, what if my day was shit?" You woke up, didn't you? You're still alive, so that must mean something.

I'm not saying you can't have a bad day, but if we keep focusing on things to complain about, then that's what we're gonna keep attracting because we're looking for it subconsciously.

So, let's start by focusing on the good. Name one good thing that happened to you, and notice how better you feel once you do.
