"You're weird." "Why are you like this?" "Why are you always smiling?" I'm sure you heard similar things as well, people judging you for who you are. When we get judged or mocked, it forces us to hide who we truly are and act like someone who people will accept.
Doing that leads to misery. I'm sick of it.
I'm here to tell you to be yourself, and if someone can't accept that, then cut them loose; you don't need them. Take off your mask, you don't need that either.
Find whatever makes you happy and pursue it. Do you want to become an artist but your parents want you to be a doctor? Then learn how to create art. I know it's hard to go against your parents (or whoever takes care of you), but trust me, listening to them will only hurt you.
The best thing you can ever do for yourself is to follow your passions. After all, that's why your soul picked you: because it wanted your life for a reason.
So listen to it. It knows what is best for you, so why fight it? It's scary at first, but when you follow your true purpose, life becomes so easy. But when you fight it, life is miserable. It's that simple.
I know what it's like to be judged just for being different, and I was forced to act like somebody who I'm not. But not anymore.
It's my purpose to help people, and that begins by ripping your mask off and shoving it in the garbage because you sure as Hell don't need it anymore.
Inspiring post. I love it!
